5-Year Graduation Rate

Percentage of students graduating within 5 years.

The five-year graduation rate is the percentage of students who entered grade 9 and graduated with a state-endorsed diploma within five years. New Jersey uses the federal adjusted cohort graduation rate formula, which adjusts for students who transfer in or out of the district. The dashboard allows you to view either the state percentage or the federal percentage of the graduation rate, which counts all students who received a state-endorsed diploma as graduates.

Five-year rates reflect the outcomes of students in the prior year's four-year cohort who continued enrollment and completed their diploma in a fifth year. Student group breakdowns and district and state comparisons are available, along with trend data for the most recent five years.
