Graduation Pathways

How students met ELA and Math graduation requirements โ€” by assessment pathway.

This dashboard shows how students in the most recent four-year graduation cohort satisfied New Jersey's graduation assessment requirements. Students must meet requirements through one of three pathways: the statewide assessment pathway (scoring proficient on the New Jersey Graduation Proficiency Assessment - NJGPA), the substitute competency pathway (meeting designated cut scores on approved assessments including the SAT, ACT, PSAT, or Accuplacer), or the portfolio appeal pathway (demonstrating proficiency through a portfolio review in grade 12).

The second and third pathways are available only to students who completed the NJGPA in grade 11. A separate category shows the percentage of graduates with disabilities who met requirements through alternate requirements in their IEPs. Due to a small percentage of students with missing pathway data, percentages across the four categories may not total 100%.
