Science NJSLA

Percentage of students meeting or exceeding standards on the NJ Student Learning Assessment โ€” Science (Level 3 or Level 4).

The NJSLA Science assessment (NJSLA-S) measures student proficiency with the New Jersey Student Learning Standards for Science. All students in grades 5, 8, and 11 are required to take the assessment. Students receive a score of Level 1 through Level 4; Levels 3 and 4 represent proficiency. Students with the most significant intellectual disabilities take the Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM) Science alternate assessment.

New Jersey transitioned to the NJSLA-S in the 2017-18 school year; the first operational administration was spring 2019. This dashboard shows proficiency rates by grade level and student group, with multi-year trend data and district and state comparisons.
