Teachers by Subject Area

This dashboard shows demographic, experience, and education information for teachers broken down by subject area. Subject areas include Elementary (not subject-specific), English/Language Arts/Literacy, English to Speakers of Other Languages, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies/History, World Languages, Visual and Performing Arts, Health/Physical Education, Family and Consumer Sciences, Financial Literacy, Business, Computer Science/IT, Industrial Arts, Career and Technical Education, Special Education, and Bilingual.

Subject area assignments are based on job codes reported by districts through the state's student information management system. Some teachers may appear in more than one subject area if they hold multiple job codes. In many elementary schools, teachers are assigned to the non-subject-specific category rather than individual subject areas.
